Abstract

The aim of the project Flechttrusion is the development and the prototypical construction of a continuous process chain for the production of Carbon Fibre Reinforced thermoplastic parts with integrated force applications.

The whole process is a combination of a braiding and a deformation step. By using a hybrid yarn (thermoplastic yarn + carbon) an infusion process is not necessary. With this combination it is possible to build up a continuous production line to produce high quality braided profiles with low costs. The integration of a deformation step raises the variance of possible profile types.

The characteristic values of the braided structure are detected and the chosen part is designed with simulation tools. The chosen demonstrator will be evaluated. These results will enable a complete digital design of further profiles. Typical other profiles could be structural components like instrument holders or reinforcements.
