Abstract
The Twentieth Century has seen a strong development of the industrial dimension, as the Twentyfirst is experiencing the one of the communications. The value of the biological and social life of the individual is inextricably linked to the "time" factor; the need to go faster and faster is justified by the fact that really, time is money, but even more time is life. In this sense, it says the most authentic concept of luxury as the Slow Food for catering, the cruise trend towards increasingly appreciated towards the Slow Cruise. So, the trip is more important than half, and the pursuit of speed gives way to the quality of the time spent on board. The cruise becomes liberation of mental pollution to rediscover the pleasure of calm and tranquillity. We observe the rise of the type of ships slow, small or large but comfortable and elegant, which continue to claim more and more their success. The slow journey is more intense: the "low operating speed", it must therefore to became a must for rediscover the pleasure, by show off with pride. The yacht-design opens, today towards new design variables: the sensory aspects become essential elements; the conscious use of materials draws new emotions related to the color, the noise, the smell, the finish and the use of light. The design of the space is expanded beyond the usual boundaries. We need a new design for easy livability of boats: to live - traveling. The future project will synthesize the binomials of: functionality - comfort, space public-private, internal-external, empty-full.
